We asked you where the worst place you had to change a nappy was and the answers were so good they have been compiled into a list:

• Baby Changing rooms where the table was filthy, flooded or there was soggy tissue all over the floor.
• In the boot of the car on our first trip out!
• In a field on a farm
• In a filthy attic of a pub with no other place to use.
• On the floor of a Doctors surgery where there are no nappy changing facilities!
• In a hospital scan department. It was shocking. Small cramped, filthy and absolutly stunk!
• In the woods! Trying to change her whilst leaves were blowing about and sticking to the poo, sticking to her bum, getting in the clean nappy…argh!
• In the middle of Peppa Pig World on the grass as the parent/baby toilet was always occupied. It was rather chilly as well so my poor daughter was not very impressed and neither was her mummy lol.
• Atop a Tor on Dartmoor on a very windy day after a picnic.
  Trying to keep a hand on wipes, nappy and poop in a moorland wind was NOT easy!
• On my lap in a bathroom on a train. Very, very difficult!
• In the Bank Manager’s board Room (Barclays Bank, Cheetham Hill) when my husband and I were asking for a loan to start our business. My daughter had managed to create a REALLY DIRTY nappy and it absolutely stunk and they did not even have a customer toilet – we did not get it after that!!!
• At the  side of motorway on back seat when the wind caught the door and decided to take nearly take it of the hinges. Had to tie the door onto the passenger seat to keep the door shut was not a good time
• In a very small cubical toilet on a british rail train, took my sons nappy off and it weed in my face…awful
• In the middle of a field when out on a picnic – just as a school field trip was walking past!
• At a fairground behind the dodgems, raining torrents, mud up to our knees trying to change a baby in his pushchair – oh my god how worse could it be!!
• Shockingly on the toilet floor in a hospital.
• On a tube in the rush hour
• On a bus

And then there are stories of when the baby joins in and ‘helps’

• We were at the mall, and my daughter had a big mushy poop. It came out the side of her nappy. When I took off her pants, it smeared all over her legs and on the change pad. As I was trying to clean it up, she started playing with it. So, it got all over Everything. Another mom came in and said “Looks like someone has had an explosion

And great places but embarrassing situations:

• I took my baby daughter out with me to meet up with my friend for lunch. We ended up in a really fancy place and she decided to do a huge poop. And the only changing facilities were in the ladies toilets. So as I was her daddy I couldnt go in. The staff pulled a huge expensive marble table out and put their best table cloths on it for me to change her. Was so embarrassed!!

And truly embarrassing and difficult situations:

• The worst place Ive had to change a nappy was at a garden centre near my parents. It has a really posh shop section full of glass vases and whatnot. My LO had a truly obnoxious nappy explosion all over himself AND the buggy. They didnt have any changing facilities so I had to give the poopy baby to my mum while I cleaned the buggy so I could change him on the buggy cos I cant sit on the floor due to disability. So there I am, swiping at poop on the buggy while lovely older ladies walk passed with disapproving faces.

  To top it all off, when I had finally changed LO and got him back in the buggy and started to move away, I saw that some poop had made it onto the expensive looking white shelving nearby. Needless to say, I wiped it off and legged it.

The performance cargo pack is made of a rugged, durable polyester/cotton blend. The cargo pack attaches to the side buckles on either of the performance carriers, and features a generous main compartment with a side pocket, and a mesh outside pocket.

With a velcro flap, the cargo pack can attach to the carrier‘s waist belt when worn in any position. It can also be used independently with the adjustable and detachable shoulder strap.

Great not to have to carry a separate bag and useful to have the option of attaching the shoulder strap to use as a handbag without the carrier.

However, it’s not very big – will fit one or two disposable nappies and some wipes etc but not much space if you are using washables.

So, good for nipping out to the shops and having a “just in case” kit with you but would need more space if you are out and about for the day.

My table bib goes everywhere with us. It’s so useful to go over dirty restaurant and cafe highchairs, and we just pop it straight in the wash when we get home. The kits contain a range of nappies that have been chosen by local sellers as being the best on the market. You can hire a kit for free for two weeks, all we ask is that you provide them with a cheque for £100 as a deposit. This cheque will not be cashed, and will be returned to you when you return the kit to our volunteer.

The kit comes with information cards about each nappy and how to use them. There are also contact details and product listings for all the local sellers, who are members of the Alliance, and can offer you lots of advice and support as well.

Brilliant product – recommended!

I bought these because I was worried about accidentally hurting baby with nappy pins… I was sceptical as to whether they’d work or not.

However, they really are great.  They have clever little grippers with are sharp enough to grab the fabric but not so pointy or big that they would ever hurt the baby.

Three in a pack also means you have spares if you lose any.

Great idea… I’d be lost without them now!

These breast pads do exactly what it says on the box.  I have used many types of breast pads, including reusable, with all 3 of my babies and these are the best ones yet.

I always leak while feeding and usually end up flooding the breast pad so often need to change the breast pad during a feed to avoid having soggy clothes but I didn’t need to with these as they are “ultra” absorbent like it says on the box. When I took them out at nighttime they still weren’t soggy with milk and kept my skin and clothes dry.

They are very thin and discreet, even under tight clothing. They sat snug in my bra and couldn’t be seen through my clothing. The 2 strong adhesive strips kept the pads firmly in place with no movement. This is great while feeding because I didn’t have to fish the pad out of the bottom of my bra after a feed, I just clipped my bra back up and the pad was still stuck to the cup so didn’t require any adjusting. Brilliant for out and about discreet feeding in public.

Also they are hygienically/individually wrapped which makes them so convenient to store in my changing bag without getting damaged by the other debris in my changing bag.

Overall, these are the best breast pads I have used while breastfeeding my babies. I love that they are individually packed so if you need to you can just change one at a time and they are protected in your bag.
I also love that they have double adhesive – no more fishing about for a soggy detached breast pad!! Brilliant!!

This is a must buy with the carrier. I had to order them after the carrier as sure enough when I used the carrier for the first time my baby starting sucking on the straps. These pads offer a little bit of protection.

I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and my breastfeeding counsellor recommended buying this bra to use both as a last stage maternity bra and then subsequently for nursing.

We knew from the state of another sling our baby had been riding in that he was going to suck, and suck he has. It’s so much easier to just wash these small pieces than the whole sling, which is a good thing as the Ergo Performance instructions discourage you from washing the whole carrier as it will damage the material.

We chose to buy two, as we use the carrier everyday, so we always have some on us when one pair is being washed.

They are soft, hygienic and for us and our sucky baby, an essential additional to the Performance Carrier. Plus, they were much cheaper on Natural Nursery than other sites we looked at.

When I received these nappies, I could not believe just how soft they are. I am totally new to cloth nappies and found these so easy to use. My daughter is a small 1 year old and these fit her perfectly. We did initially have a few leaks but that was down to not having the height of the nappy adjusted properly.

 They also dry surprisingly quickly, as do the microfiber inserts, but the bamboo booster does take quite a bit longer to dry. I have used these at night, with the bamboo booster and it works really well. 

I was also surprised at how well they washed. My little girl had a bad tummy on the second day we used the nappies and we had no leaks and no stains on the nappies after they had been washed.

I love these nappies so much, I will be buying some more.

So, I bought these bags as an alternative to standard milk storage bags, as you can attach them to the pump. This removes the need for sterilising bottles in addition to using bags. They attach easily to the Medela Swing pump (I see no reason why they wouldn’t attach to other pumps too). However, you can only use the attachment once so, if you want to top up the bag later in the day, you have to use a bottle anyway. Fantastic, and time saving if you don’t need to top up. They are great quality bags though, don’t seem to have much chance of leaking or splitting like the cheaper brands do.

My little boy who is 4 months doesn’t like to be restricted by trousers so these are a great product to keep him warm with vests when just playing in the house.

It’s handy for me too as can check his nappy without having to take any trousers/ dungarees off. Although I still take them off to change his nappy as don’t want him weeing (or worse!) all over them.

I have found the best use for then is when we are out in cold weather in the sling; they protect the bit of bare leg between bottom of trousers and top of socks (i just tuck his trousers in them).

They would make a great gift (people I know expecting babies will be getting a pair!).

I’ve got a feeling they will be great when he starts crawling to protect his knees from the carpet too as they seem to be very good quality to withstand a bit of wear and tear. 

Overall I would give the product 9/10. They only lost a point as they have bobbled very slightly. Also, if I was using them for a very new baby I would want them to be slightly softer.

This is a fantastic sling and although it is expensive i think its worth every penny. My 4 month old is a hefty 21 lbs and carrying him in the baby bjorn was really hurting my shoulders. However with the ergo i can carry him for ages in the front carrying position without sore shoulders.

 It takes a little while to adjust all the straps to a comfy position but once adjusted its very easy to use. My baby does seem more comfortable with me using it then my husband, he seems to sit a little too low in the sling with my husband using. I’m sure a bit of strap fiddling would resolve this minor issue though.
The pocket is really handy for wallet/ phone but i’m now in debate whether to splash out on the cargo pack or not….

We love Itti Bitti nappies in our house!!

 These are by far the trimmest cloth nappies on the market. They have a clever snap in set of soakers that dry fairly quickly and the outside can be reused if you have spare sets of soakers!

These look great too! You just cant help but stroke the lovely minkee outer! These are also my partners favourite nappy… he ALWAYS reaches for them first!

I’m always happy to see Barefoot books, all the ones I’ve seen are written and illustrated in a unique, gentle style, with educational and emotional messages which also manage to be fun at the same time.

This book has lots to look at and talk about (spot the snail on each page) with a bouncy rhyming narrative which I think children will get different things from at different ages.  For older children the illustrations might even inspire them to create their own pictures in a similar collage style.

So far, our paperback version is still in good shape, but our 19 month old has just reached the stage of lobbing everything across the room so I might advise getting the hardback version for boisterous toddlers who are starting to ‘read’ alone…

Also included as well as the story are notes on a number of dinosaurs, and extra information on the dinosaur era, which gives the book added depth for older children.

The theme centres around introducing a number of different dinosaurs and their habits, there isn’t much of a storyline beyond that, but I guess for children obsessed by dinosaurs, who needs much more?!

3.5 stars plus an extra half a star for the good price from Natural Nursery!

I didn’t initially buy these with my carrier but the first time I used the sling my baby soaked the strap by sucking on it.So i got a couple of pairs of these and I’m happy they will prolong the life of the carrier and be a bit more comfortable and hygienic for my baby.

 They are nice and soft against my babys face too when he falls asleep in the sling and slumps a bit.

I have used these on my little lady (now almost 20 months) from around 4-6 weeks old. When she was tiny I did find them a little baggy but that added to the cute factor!

 I have used them instead of tights and as well as when it was really chilly! In the summer they are fab for showing off cute cloth nappies and make changes so much quicker!
Now Daisy is a little older and we are considering potty training they are a great alternative to ‘normal clothes’ while in the house to keep her legs warm in the winter months but make using the potty easy! 

A definate must have for everyone!!

I had to purchase this for the usual reasons, and found that it actually was easier to use. I had used another brand before that had to be removed prior to feeding and you never realize how much of a hassle it is to find a cloth to wipe up every time you want to nurse.

I used other brands of disposable breast pads but had a hard time finding something that would hold all the milk from sleeping overnight. I had a hard time getting a good night’s sleep. But these covered a bigger area, and allowed me to go out in public without leaking and being uncomfortable. They stayed in place, unlike other brands that have no adhesive. Very well made item!

We were given a “That’s not my Pony” Usbourne touchy feely book when our daughter turned one. It was literally her favourite book, one which she read every night after we had. She could interact with the nice bright pictures as we read, the different textures were always interesting and a new word to learn(I think ‘squashy’ was one of her favourites); And we used to spot the little mouse of each page.
Shes now three and a half and has some of the Usbourne Sticker Story books, which are great as well as they have a little mouse hiding on each page
Her brother now has her “Thats’s not my Pony” book and several others including “Thats not my Tractor” which is definitely his favourite.
I think one of the best things about the Usbourne books is that they can last through so many children and the board books are so well made and hardy. We’ve taken the sticker ones on holiday in the car to keep the kids occupied on a long journey and they seem to keep their attention for a good, long while.

They’re great value even if you only have one child and the Usbourne range spans into teenage years, So ill definatly be buying more in the future.

Many scientists believe that exposure to BPA (a chemical used in many plastics) could cause developmental problems in developing babies yet some well known UK retailers were selling potentially dangerous baby bottles as recently as April this year.

At The Natural Nursery, all our baby bottles are BPA free, including the glass baby bottle and the breastmilk bottle.

We believe that it is important to give your baby the best start in life so on the times when you want to give expressed breastmilk, make sure you choose a BPA free baby bottle.

We have this vest in both the blue and aqua. It is lovely and soft, keeps its shape and the bright colours never seem to fade in the wash. We usually pair it up with funky tights as an outfit on its own as it seems such a shame to hide under a babygrow. Will definitely be buying this in a few more sizes in the future!

My son has had a taggie from birth and has become increasingly attached to it. He loves to fiddle with the ribbons as he falls asleep and often carries it around with him for that extra bit of security. I am reassured that it is made from organic cotton and is gentle on his skin and it is well made. Ours has been through the wash many times now and has come out as good as new – testament to the quality of the product. I would recommend these to anyone, in fact I’d say buy two – one for your baby, one in the wash!
